ContainerPort Group Website Redesign

Writing all copy for the ContainerPort Group website redesign was no walk in the container yard. It was, however, one of the most valuable projects I’ve worked on.

Using a slide deck of voice and tone guidelines and a sparse website as building blocks, I went heads-down for three weeks to pull together all 30 pages of copy, collaborating with the creative team to ensure everything resonated with ContainerPort Group’s brand. It was invaluable opportunity to tackle a large copy project end-to-end and even more rewarding to deliver exceptional results to the client.

Collaborators include Kate Penrod (art director), Tessa Miceli (visual designer) and Ken Sugiura (front-end developer).

Tequila Feature for 42+

This interactive tequila feature appeared in the inaugural issue of Ohio Liquor’s magazine, 42+. For this article, I researched tequila types, drafted multiple charts and wrote short blurbs at the bottom of each tequila type to explain its features and, of course, how to enjoy it.

This was the first in a series of freelance features I have done for 42+, including cordials (page 12), vodka (page 14), rum (page 16), a find-your-spirit-match quiz (page 10) and a Bouquet in a Bottle feature (page 30)—an article that was also the issue’s cover story.

NetJets + Northrop & Johnson

Because Northrop & Johnson would be NetJets’ first yachting partner, this project gave me an opportunity to create standardized copy around a new vertical. I used consistent vocabulary to ground the copy across the site and beyond.

I also wanted my word choices to follow the elevated language characteristic of NetJets’ brand voice. The overlap between luxury air and sea travel is exceptional service and exclusivity, and I aimed to sell the ideas with grace (and a little gilding).

The homepage hero has since changed, but of course I immortalized it. This image reads, “Setting Out to Sea— Explore yachting benefits with our newest partnership.”

Announcing NetJets’ 100th Cessna Citation Latitude

NetJets received the 100th delivery of their best-selling aircraft and held a water salute at the Columbus headquarters to commemorate the event. I wrote copy for this landing page to detail how the event represented a major growth milestone for the company with an appeal toward NetJets’ prospects.

After publication, a fellow intern on the Business Insights and Analytics team shared data about the accompanying email I had written. The email alone brought in 46.5% of site visits, 57.1% of lead form submissions and 55% of lead form views for the month. The intern also mentioned these numbers during presentations to the CEO and acknowledged me for my work.

Humanitarian Engineering Feature

As a student communications assistant, I interviewed engineering students, professors, club leaders and event organizers to write several feature articles for the College of Engineering website.

My favorite piece is this feature on a student organization that engineers devices to help underserved populations. This article was later shortened and edited for use in an undergraduate admissions brochure for The Ohio State University.
